Issue 49: BBC Radio 4 Programme; “Key Matters”

Thank heavens for BBC iplayer! As I am usually here, there, and everywhere during the week, in term-time, I miss all kinds of interesting radio programmes.

On Tuesday I listened to a 15 minute programme called “Key Matters”, in which Ivan Hewett discusses different keys with professional musicians. I heard the violinist, Daniel Hope, talking about D major, and playing various themes and extracts from violin concerts. Then I discovered that it was the last of the series.

However, the programmes are still available on iplayer. Today I used the link below to listen to an earlier programme, where French horn player, Roger Montgomery, investigated F major.

I’m now looking forward to listening to the rest of them, before they disappear.
