“If children are not introduced to music at an early age, I believe something fundamental is actually being taken from them.” ~ L. Pavarotti

“I can only think of music as something inherent in every human being-a birthright. Music coordinates mind, body and spirit.”~Yehudi Menuhin

If you are a regular reader of The Music Jungle, then I’m sure that you will be nodding your head in agreement.

I was asked by someone if I thought it was most rewarding when I found real musical talent in my pupils. I think I would be more likely to be alarmed and apprehensive! The kind of talent he was thinking of would probably far outstrip my ability to teach them.

I have had students who are very clever, and very able, and teaching them has certainly been at times a joy and at times intensely frustrating. But I get just as much pleasure from uncovering the musicality which is birthright that Menhuin talks about.
