Issue 24: Welcome to The Music Jungle

For a person who spends their working lives teaching people to maintain steady a pulse and play accurate rhythms, bashing away at a computer keyboard is a highly unsatisfactory aural experience. The words get hammered out with little attention to phrasing, no attempt at dynamics, and frequent stops and starts to check grammar and spelling.

There’s no flow, shape, style or beauty in the sound of typing.

Hopefully there is more poetry and grace in the reading of the words than in the creating of them on the page.

This week’s articles concern the sounds of space, of silence, and of recordings of your students.
