Last week I put up an article about the tune “Pease Pudding” as a partner song for “London Bridge is Falling Down”. I had rather assumed that I had already written about the pulse and rhythm game associated with the tune, but it appears this is not the case…
You will find the tune written out here. Teach the song, adding a spoken “Yes” or “No” at the end of each phrase;
Pease pudding hot yes Pease pudding cold no Pease pudding in the pot, nine days old no
Some like it hot yes Some like it cold no Some like it in the pot, nine days old no
Once the song is known, the game is to sing the song in your “thinking” voice – ie “in your head”, just saying the “yes” and “no” words out loud. It is more than likely that the children will say the final “no” too early, first time around!
