Issue 63: Welcome to the Jungle

Fireworks at the London Eye on New Year’s Eve.

As I type, fireworks are whizzing and popping all around. I know that bonfires and firework displays will be a hot topic when I go back to school on Monday (image from wikipedia). I have found a nice little lesson plan for a fireworks dance, from Scholastic, which I think my year 1 and 2 children will enjoy.

Within days, for many music teachers, that will all be over as we get stuck into the Christmas Shows. With that in mind, this week’s other articles focus on techniques which I use for teaching the words and the tunes of the songs; a process which has to start straight after half term if you are to give yourself plenty of time.
