70/100 – Sight-Reading – Grade 1 Piano

This might become a short series of posts… or there again it might not – see how time and inclination go…

I’ve a couple of young students who started working towards their Grade 1 (ABRSM) piano exams this term, Sight-reading is one of those things I always struggled with. I’ve had a thought; to create one-page sheets of short pieces which I can hand out to the pupils every couple of lessons.

I know that they are no way at the peak of imaginative composition for beginner pianists! I just clicked them into my sibelius software, and added a few dynamics/articulations. I’ll get the students to decide on titles, choose their favourites (and why).

So, if it is of any use to you – help yourself.
