Issue 41: Ofsted Report on Music Teaching in Schools

Much to my surprise, I found this to be an interesting and inspiring read. You can find it here:

It is surprisingly readable, and the lesson observations and suggestions in the various sections have helped me to evaluate my own music lessons. In particular I have recently made much more use of the internal microphone on my lap top computer to record and replay the children’s music making, so that they can listen and improve upon their own work. This has been very successful, especially with regard to improving the quality of class singing.
