Yes, well, the term started for me on a sombre and serious note – Child Protection Training. So, likewise with this issue of the Jungle. It makes good sense to at least find out how much is involved in Child Protection, and be aware of what you need to know.
That took up the first day, and then I began to get into the swing of the teaching routine again. It’s a hectic mix of new schools and old schools, and of course the piano and theory pupils in the evenings. Not to mention the fast-approaching closing date for entering candidates for ABRSM music exams (which is Friday 18th January for on-line entries, by the way!)
This week, I’ve done a quick heads-up on the importance of attending Child Protection Training, some ideas if you have to include “Egyptians” as a topic in your music lessons, and also a game/challenge based on silence, to regain control of a chatty class.
I hope you have a good week!
